2014 Dodge Dart Review

Arrival of new 2014 Dodge Dart brought few changes. Mainly these changes are related to trim levels, engine changes, list of standard features and, of course, price of the vehicle. Five trims will be available including SE, SXT, Aero, Limited and GT versions. List of standard features is expanded for Limited versions, but so is the price. Price remains the same for base level entry SE and GT. Precise data about the reveal date of 2014 Dodge Dart are not known yet, but some rumors can be heard, and according to them, we can expect new Dart to show up late this year.

2014 Dodge Dart engineers manage to deliver high on road performance with great handling dynamics and steering precision, with exceptional ride and comfort features, and if you add electric power steering (EPS) that is available on all models, than you get outstanding car.

Three engine options come with new 2014 Dodge Dart, depending on trim level you choose. SXT, GT and Limited versions are run by 2.4-liter I-4 engine that makes 184 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque. The power is transferred to the wheels through either manual (SXT and GT models) or automatic (standard on the Limited version) six-speed gearbox. EPA fuel economy rates for this engine mated to automatic transmission are 21/30/24 mpg city/highway/combined, while with manual numbers are a little bit higher 23/33/27 mpg city/highway/combined. According to some information Dodge announced a higher EPA fuel economy rating for its SXT and Limited versions due to reduced weight of the vehicle.

Another engine option in 2014 Dodge Dart lineup is 2.0-liter that is found under the hood of Dart SE models. 2.0-liter engine produces 160 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque. Buyers will be able to choose between a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic gearbox. Fuel economy is rated for 25/36  mpg city/highway for models with manual transmission, and 24/34 mpg for the ones with automatic.

Third engine option which will run 2014 Dodge Dart Aero models is turbocharged MultiAir four-cylinder 1.4-liter engine that generates 160 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. Transmission choices are slightly different for Aero models. 2014 Dodge Dart with 1.4-liter engine will be available with either six-speed manual (standard) or dual-clutch automatic. Due to aerodynamic modifications made to this particular model fuel economy rates are more than good: 27/40/32 mpg city/highway/combined with a manual transmission and 28/41/32 mpg with the six-speed dual-clutch automatic.

Perhaps the most interesting information about 2014 Dodge Dart are its safety features, which puts it among the bests in the industry. It is 68 %made of high strength steel, has 10 standard air bags, four-wheel anti-lock brakes (part of standard equipment on every model), electronic stability control, electronic roll reduction, all-speed traction control, Rear backup camera, Blind-spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Path detection, Park assist… etc. Another great set of features that could be found in 2014 Dodge Dart are its set of innovative and easy to use technology. The Dart offers the class-exclusive Uconnect infotainment system with an 8.4-inch touchscreen radio, Uconnect Voice Command system, plus list of standard features of every trim level is expanded. List of standard features for Limited version includes automatic transmission, keyless entry and push-button start, leather upholstery, heated front seats, sunroof, heated steering wheel and some more.
