There were no engine changes, compared to its precursor, so 2014 Toyota Avalon still receives power from its 3.5-liter V6 engine. Its adorned with advanced technology, that produces 268 horsepower and 248 lb-ft of torque. This powerful engine is mated to six-speed automatic transmission. 2014 Toyota Avalon has three different drive modes including Sport, Eco and Normal. Fuel economy is slightly improved and its rates now are 24/37/28 mpg in city/highway/combined. Toyota didn’t give exact CO2 emissions rate, but emphasized that numbers are “extremely low”. Toyota’s officials are especially proud to announce that the newest Avalon significantly improved its responsiveness and that it offers amazing straight-line stability. New 2014 Avalon accelerates from zero-to-60 mph in 6.9 seconds.
Toyota offers four trim levels for new Avalon – the base XLE, XLE Premium, XLE Touring, and the Limited. We used to see Toyota vehicles well equipped, and this Japanese multinational automaker didn’t change its tradition with 2014 Avalon. Even the base trim level, XLE, is well packed, and includes LED taillights, 17-inch wheels, soft interior materials, natural-leather seats, and touch screen display. XLE Premium variant adds another set of features, including heated and ventilated seats, a smart-key system, electrical power moon roof and rear-view digital camera. XLE Touring is equipped with 18-inch wheels, Toyota’s Neptune system that is paired with smart phones in order to activate capabilities. The 2014 Toyota Avalon Limited, being the top trim, offers even better technological improvements. 2014 Toyota Avalon’s Limited trim level offers rain-sensing wipers, xenon HID headlamps, remote engine start, DLCC (Dynamic Laser Cruise Control) System, blind-spot check, rear Air conditioning controls, and pre-crash discovery system.
